Toronto council voted to increase the Municipal Land Transfer Tax (MLTT) on residential properties with 1 or 2 single-family dwellings, effective April 1, 2026, as follows:
Use this tool to calculate land transfer taxes (LTT) on residential homes within the province of Ontario.
Enter the home's purchase price (don't enter a dollar sign or any spaces, commas, etc.), and note the municipality where the property is located. If within the City of Toronto, select that option.
If the home is located in the City of Toronto, there is an additional municipal land transfer tax (MLTT) for residential properties with 1 or 2 single-family dwelling units. The calculations for this tax have been updated to show changes effective April 1, 2026.
The ranges highlighted in gray are the existing Toronto Land Transfer Tax rates.
The ones below are scheduled to come into effect on January 1, 2024.
