May sales report for Durham Region, Toronto Real Estate

sales-upThe Toronto Real Estate Board has issued it's sales statistics for resale residential real estate for May, 2013.  For the first time in recent months, there were price gains across the board versus one year ago. Durham region demonstrated a year-over-year composite (for all property types) price increase of 5.73%, compared to 1.66% in the City of Toronto and 2.78% for the entire Toronto Real Estate Board. Sales volume in May is mixed versus last year.  Overall sales are down 3.4%.  In the 416 area, detached home volume was up by 3.0% over 2012.  The 905 are showed a increase of 0.1%. Highlights from this month include a composite price gain of 13.89% in Scugog, and a 1.13% increase in condominium apartments in the City of Toronto.
