The Toronto Real Estate Board has issued it's sales statistics for resale residential real estate for June, 2013. The entire board saw a composite price gain of 2.91% with 9,061 sales, with volume down 0.7% from June of 2012, which made for a second quarter that was lower than the second quarter of 2012, but substantially improved versus the first quarter decline. New listings in June were lower than sales, making for a more competitive market as inventory declined. Durham region demonstrated a year-over-year composite (for all property types) price increase of 5.67%, compared to 1.79% in the City of Toronto and 2.91% for the entire Toronto Real Estate Board. Highlights from this month include a townhome price gain of 10.21% in Whitby, and a 7.09% composite increase in Oshawa.
